A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being exposed to sulphuric acid.
Police were called to the scene at a chemical wholesaler on Chemical Court, in the Lawrence Avenue East and Morningside Avenue in Scarborough, just before noon on Tuesday.
Fire officials said that after being exposed to the acid, the 28-year-old man immediately entered the decontamination shower on site – complaining about burning in his lungs.
He was then taken to a local hospital.
